New sunglasses: check

I'm ready to sit outside and read a book or just be. Well, when it warms up a few degrees. If I were to plant some flowers right now, they would be gerbera daisies, because they have always seemed like the happiest flowers. Daisies in general are happy.
I was thinking on my drive in to work this morning that this is one of my favorite times of the year. I don't have a favorite season, but instead really enjoy the changing of the seasons. This transition from winter into spring is quite lovely. The snow is melting, the grass is starting to come back and being in a room with an open window is bearable, and even enjoyable. I'm looking forward to the upcoming transition into hot summer days, too. And then the crispness of fall, and the first few snows of winter! Seasons are lovely. I could never live near the equator, where they don't exist. I could live somewhere that it doesn't get so bitterly cold in the winter, though.
I mailed out a check to a local community farm today. For $315, we'll be getting about a grocery bag full of fresh produce every other week from June to October. I heard about it from one of the resource teachers at Nichols, who said that you get a ton of food and some really interesting vegetables that most people wouldn't normally just grab from the store. I'd been thinking about it for a long time, but was reminded of it again today because of the lovely weather. I ran the idea by Zac, since he'd be eating some of the veg as well, and he thought it was a good one. So, the check is sent, and I feel more like a real person. More settled? I'm taking a part in the community, which is kind of cozy. I'm teaching summer school in Monona this summer, too. Hopefully I get a job teaching for next year, too. One of the supervisors from the CIMC who graduated last year came in to visit today and she was talking about getting a job. She spent some time applying, but only got one interview last year and has been subbing for the whole year. My goal is to not let that be me. I think I'm on the game enough that it shouldn't be, though.
Job hunt! I was going to on Friday, but now I will some other day when I'm not feeling under the weather, talk with my principal about how I'm doing in Kym's room and discuss the job opening at the school for next year. My plan is to drop off letters of interest with a resume to all of the elementary schools in the Monona Grove district, and also to the principals in Verona, where I had practicum last semester. Other than that, I've been keeping an eye on the job openings for next year and have started applying a bit. I've got two of my recommendations in, and will feel more comfortable applying for jobs once I have at least three in. Soon. Me want job!
Keli and Daniela came in to work today, which always makes work lovely, but unproductive. I brought things to start working on my weather unit that I'm designing for student teaching, but haven't opened the binder yet. I will, though. I at least want to have an outline for what I want to do before I leave today. I think it's a good goal. Very managable. I want to also get some of my letters for principals written today.
Things are good right now. Really good.
